On Friday, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) was inaugurated with a host of domestic and foreign artists, religious leaders, sports and business personalities in attendance. Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, and Isha Ambani, her daughter, presided over the event.

Speaking at the launch, Nita Ambani expressed her appreciation for the support the center has received and said it is โ€œone of the best cultural centers in the worldโ€. She further added that the new facility will provide an opportunity for youth from small towns and remote areas to showcase their art.

Nita Ambani said that this center is free for children, senior citizens and the disabled. Will focus strongly on community nutrition programs.

Mukesh Ambani was also present and mentioned that the center will become a major art hub of the country, along with Mumbai. He expressed his enthusiasm for the talent of Indians and hoped that they will produce original shows here.

During NMACC, the entire family of Mukesh Ambani had reached, in which all were seen in a royal look. This cultural center is open in the middle of Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.

God of War: Ragnarok dominated the awards, winning six out of its fourteen nominations, while Vampire Survivors took home two awards, including Best Game. Rollerdrome won Best British Game and Last of Us voice actor Troy Baker presented the award. Christopher Judge and Laya Deleon Hayes, the voice actors for Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok, both took home awards for their work. Judge thanked the gaming community in his speech, saying โ€œIt is not lost on me that Iโ€™m a black man standing on a British stage accepting an award for playing a Spartan God killer, who in his heart always wants to be a father. It is the role of a lifetime. Iโ€™m gonna live and breathe every moment of this great gift that I was given. And I will do it humbly.โ€ He went on to ask the gaming community โ€œto give each other a breakโ€, and to recognize that โ€œyou have more in common than what separates you. No matter what platform you love.โ€

The EE Game of the Year, which was voted on by the public, was also won by God of War: Ragnarok. Its animator Bruno Velazquez thanked the fans for the award, saying โ€œThis award is really special to us, because without all of you out there playing our games, we wouldnโ€™t be able to do this.โ€

Rollerdromeโ€™s win for Best British Game was a surprise, as many people had assumed that Vampire Survivors would take home the award. As soon as anchor Mandira Bedi called out Arijit Singh’s name, the noise filled the Narendra Modi stadium with the chanting of the first tune. Bollywood singer Arijit Singh enthralled the audience with his melodious performance on songs like Kesariya, Lehra Do, Apna Bana Le, Jhoome Jo Pathan, Raabta, Shivaay, Jeetega-Jeetega, Chadheya Dance Ka Bhoot, Raabta and Shubhanallah for about half an hour.

Rashmika Mandanna’s Performance

South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna gave a scintillating dance performance on songs like Shrivalli, Naatu Naatu and Dholida.

Tamannaah Bhatia’s Performance

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia also enthralled the audience with her dance performances on songs like Tune Maari Entriyaan and Chowgada Tara for about 5 minutes.

Spectators Show Support for their Teams

The opening ceremony was attended by 1.25 lakh spectators, who had come to the stadium with posters to show their support for their favourite teams. Unfortunately, due to the home and away format of the tournament, the captains of all the 10 teams could not attend the opening ceremony.

Previous Opening Ceremonies

Many Bollywood stars such as Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, as well as American singer Pitbull, have graced the IPL opening ceremony. At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Hrithik Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Tamannaah Bhatia performed, along with Mika Singh and Prabhudeva.

IPL 2023: GT vs CSK

In the first match of the tournament, defending champions Gujarat Titans defeated four-time champions Chennai Super Kings by five wickets. With this win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat continued their unbeaten campaign against Chennai. This is his third consecutive win over CSK. Till now Gujarat has not been defeated. Gujarat won the match by reaching 182 runs for five wickets in 19.2 overs, surpassing Chennai Super Kings’ score of 178 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs.

IPL will be played in home-away format

Let us tell you that for the first time after 2019, the tournament will be played in ‘Home and Away’ format. Due to Kovid-19, matches were played only at selected venues in three seasons. This time all the teams will play matches at places other than their home ground. Apart from Mumbai, matches will be held in Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mohali, Guwahati and Dharamshala.

Some new rules in the 16th edition of IPL

An impact player can substitute for any member of the team, regardless of whether they are a batter or a bowler. Even after the toss, the captain can make changes in the playing XI. Captain can take DRS on wide and no ball. Five penalty runs will be awarded for changing the fielder’s position before the batsman has played the ball. No more than four fielders are allowed to be positioned beyond the 30-yard line.

Numbers Game in Tournament

The tournament will be played from March 31 to May 28 at 12 different grounds. A total of 74 matches will be played in 59 days in the 16th edition of IPL. The 1000th match of IPL will be played between Mumbai and Chennai on 6th May.

These big names will not be seen in IPL this time

Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Jay Richardson, Kyle Jamieson, Johnny Bairstow, Will Jacques and Krishna won’t feature in IPL due to injury.

Shiv Thackerayโ€™s Experience

Shiv Thackeray, who rose to fame through Bigg Boss 16, recently opened up about facing casting couch. During this, Shiv shared his experience of exploitation and said that at the beginning of his career, a casting director had called him to a massage center, falsely claiming it to be for an audition. Not only this, Shiv said that after coming to Mumbai, he realized that not only girls, but also boys are scared of poachers here.

In an interview given to Hindustan Times, Shiv said that he recalled the experience related to casting couch and said that he once went to Aram Nagar to give an audition. The casting director present there took him to the bathroom and asked him to come to the massage center after the audition.
